Leave your gourds uncovered on your porch. Check them every two or three weeks for soft spots, and discard any that show definite signs of rot. Keep in mind, mold and peeling skin are part of the drying process.

I've been watching them through the living room window (I have them on a table right outside), and the beige ones (Ones that I think are drying properly), are developing a curious texture to their skin. It almost looks like little welts......so I'm hoping that's the natural progress).
I have thrown several out that got limp. I'm just curious if these green dippers can possibly survive........but only time will tell.
Is there any low temp that I should protect them from? (Like single digits or lower?).
Would the green ones need more protection than the beige ones? Also......if any of them rot, can I still save the seeds from them, or do the seeds need to come from totally mature, dried gourds?
