Miscanthus sinensis 'Variegatus'

M.s. 'Variegatus in late June with M.s. 'Morning Light' to its left and M. 'Pururascens' behind it. Growth continues through summer, reaching 7' with a striking presence. Retains its variegation through Fall; does not flower well (when at all) in zone 5, but does so in warmer zones. A superb specimen.

RE: Miscanthus sinensis 'Variegatus'

If we purchased a gallon size container of this beautiful grass - how tall could we expect it to grow the first season - what is the age of yours?............Do you have any other suggestions for plants in different colors hardy to a zone 5 with full sun & NO draught conditions? We would prefer some grasses to grow as tall as your picture but others to be shorter next to the front walk. We desire colorful as possible with lots of movement in the wind. Thanks for any suggestions you can give
