Name that grass

I love nurseries that don't know what they sell--but always looking for something new I bought two anyways.

So what kind of grass is is? I used my hand as a size reference. It has thin blades of soft grass, and there is green at the base. Is it some sort of feather grass? How big will it get?

Thanks, Chris

Maybe Carex buchaninii?

Joyce, I think you might be right. I did a google search on the name and the pictures and descriptions from the various sites seem accurate enough. The height (18-24") is perfect for where I have planted them.

Thanks!

I had that grass when I lived in NC...it is quite drought tolerant once it is established.
I think it will do well for you down there in TX.

More likely Carex testacea. Buchanani is far more red-brown, also more upright at that stage of life.
