We recently had a tree line put in between our yard and our neighbors for privacy. In these pictures you will see some different pines and then some nookia cypress trees. The nookia did not do well in the conditions that they had and most have yellowed and a few have died. In the spring we are replacing them with three river birch trees that about about 14-16 feet tall at this point. We feel that this will give us some privacy faster and a bit more dense than the nookias that grow somewhat downward. We would like to add in some grasses in between the trees to "fill in" and give us a bit more dense privacy where the trunks will be. We'd like suggestions for some taller grasses that will look nice with the river birch. They need to be a larger/taller species as our deck is facing this area and it is raised as our lot is at a higher elevation that the house next door.
