temperature threshold for grass in containers?

Does anyone have a comment on what low temperature the typical Miscanthus can tolerate when sitting out in a container? I realize that not all Miscanthus are the same...but I've heard that around 20 degrees is the point at which Miscanthus may succumb to cold when in "cans."

I've also heard that bumping the USDA hardiness zone rating down by one or two notches for grasses in containers is a good rule of thumb.

Anyone have tales of grasses left out in bitter cold that came back as strong as oxen or died in mass?
