grass ID

Does anyone know what type of grass this is? It's about 3 feet tall with a reddish/brown dried blades and white sort of curly plumes. I'm guessing it's a type of miscanthus, but I can't find any pictures online or in my landscaping books that look anything like it.

thanks!
Michelle

RE: grass ID

It looks like Miscanthus sinensis, from the plumes. The foliage color suggests var. purpurascens, but it's hard to say for sure.
