Are you looking for freebies? You might want to take advantage of the upcoming plant swap from the PNW exchange forum -- this coming Saturday (3/6) and in Redmond, so not far from you :-)

Otherwise, both of these grasses will be readily available at local area nurseries - the KF in early season and the blood grass later on. You might also want to look into some of the local area plant sales - the Arboretum, Seattle Tilth, NPA and Master Gardeners' sales are excellent sources of a huge array of plants and OG's, often very inexpensively.

Thanks for responding. Yes, I am looking for freebies if possible, or I'm happy to trade if there is something someone would like. The grass is for my elderly neighbor's chainlink fence. I offered to find and plant a row in front of his looooong fence. I'll check into the Redmond elephant plant sale - thanks for the tip. K

Be careful about the Japanese red blood grass. It's relatives are quite invasive and there's some question about the Red Barron variety. You night want to check out some things like the article linked below. Scroll down to the section on Cultivar: 'Red Baron.'
