Blue Lyme Grass

Anybody tried Blue Lyme Grass in the humid parts of Z7 to Z8? It seems in some disfavor because of its toughness and tendency to invade the space of less thrifty plants. But that is not a problem for me. I want something I can cut back once a year, something that is blue, something that can tolerate less than a full day of pure sun, and something that always looks good. Blue Lyme Grass seems to fill all these purposes but I have not used it myself and the literature is scant because everybody seems mad at it just for spreading. Other than taking over, any drawbacks to Blue Lyme Grass?
