japanese Blood Grass, containers???

Hello~

what is your suggestion for planting BG in containers and then sinking them in the ground. I want to do this to keep the specimens from spreading.

Should I keep the edge of the pot above the soil line to keep and roots from 'jumping'. I'm assuming I cut the bottom out of the pot before planting. Just want to make sure I do this right the first time!

It'll work just fine. I use this technique to tuck a small Imperata into larger container plantings as well as small spots in the garden. Cut the bottom of the container out, and leave a half-inch exposed at the top. Cover it all with mulch, and just check around the container top a couple of times a season to make sure there isn't any rambling going on.
