Haven't posted here in a long time. Now I'm too busy DIVIDING hundreds of grasses to have time to spend posting and reading!
I'm chugging through my Miscanthus and all the while I'm eyeing the Pennesitums -- occasionally slipping one out of the pot. They are ready to divide but...are they? What a dense and round mass at the crown and is it really best to hack that into 2 half moon pieces?????? How do you divide these suckers without seriously messing them up?? Seems to me they will not recover the same way Miscanthus would.
Perhaps Pennisetum clumps do not grow and expand with the same speed as Miscanthus and therefore may not need to be divided every season???? (wishful thinking)
Anyone have tips/experience they can share on these? Also I have Bouteloua gracilis and don't know the best approach to dividing these dense clumpers.
