Anybody growing Turkey's Beard?

(I posted this on the Native Plant forum and haven't gotten any response so I thought I'd try here. It's not a true grass [in the lily family] but the first reference I ever saw to it was in a book on grasses.)

I just received some Xerophyllum asphodeloides (Turkey's Beard) and would love to hear from anybody who has grown these. I've been looking for some for several years and recently found them at Gardens of the Blue Ridge. I understand they may take several years to reach blooming size. Any info from people with experience would be appreciated
