Just planting them in good garden soil, and watering them regularly (2-3 times a week, if rain doesn't do it), and they'll grow as much as they can possibly grow. They're probably pretty pot bound, so account for that when you install them. Either unravel the roots carefully, or score the bottoms of the rootballs on the really bad ones.

Getting them out of their little pots is the best thing you can do for them. I bought over 100 of them last year, and potted them all up to gallon pots. Their roots exploded into the new medium, and they're all ready for either larger pots or the ground this year.

Generally, you're looking at 2-3 good growing seasons before they look full. Longer for mature height on the taller grasses.

donn thanks for the great input. I will steer clear of any fertilizer and just use quality soil when planting. I always try to break up the roots when planting from these smalls pots but will take extra note of that.

Guess I will just have to wait for them to come into full glory.
