Ornamental grass dilemma

Hi, I have a 32 x 3 ft. bedding area in front of rose beds. It has daylilies there presently. They get ratty and the color distracts from the roses. So, I'd like to plant grasses. Not sure about Little Bunny pennisetum or Miscanthus Little Kitten. I worry that the Miscanthus might be too tall and take away from the roses, but the Little Bunny is very small. All the info online says something different about the Miscanthus. Is it 3' or 4'? Also thought about underplanting annuals or something with the Pennisetum, but not sure how this would work. Are there any other alternatives? Carex was a thought, but not sure about this either. The grasses are such a great companion to roses and it's a very large area. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING THIS.
