Eliminating turf grass in liriope

Hi all. I have liriope, both green and variegated, lining multiple planting beds. The turf grass has invaded them and I see no way of pulling/killing the turf grass in the beds without hurting the liriope that is starting to come up. Is there any answer here? I am seriously considering just killing/pulling it all and going with no border since it really just doesn't look good in spots.

I don't think there is any highly selective herbicide which will kill turf grass and leave the Liriope unscathed.

I also don't think you'd want to go through the tedious ordeal of manually separating one from the other. That would involve digging and bare-rooting clumps, then pulling the turf grass and its roots from each clump. This probably wouldn't bother the Liriope, but it would be very time consuming.

I'm going to do this to salvage a few thousand Grape Hyacinth bulbs this summer. They've been invaded by various grassy weeds, over a 40' length of border. This process will be much easier with bulbs than with the thick and tangly root mass of Liriope.
