Japanese Blood Grass companion plants

I planted some Japanese Blood Grass in a bed a few years ago, and it's doing quite well. I wanted to see if I could plant some companion plants amongst the grass, such as perennial flowers. I don't even know how that would look, but I was thinking of something tall like cone flowers or black-eyed susans. Any suggestions?

I'm also looking for suggetions. I have 2 large areas that flank my driveway entrance. But, I burn mine off in the spring and whatever is planted along with it needs to stand up to the spring burn off.

grasses and prairie perennials like coneflowers and black-eyed susans are a classic combination

I use grasses with darn near everything throughout my garden.
