Ornamental Grass

Cutback grasses now different than before...?

I have a few types of ornamental grasses (don't know the names - please forgive) that I gave a haircut to as I read about in this forum. They all has soft, narrow, blade-like stems. Now they are growing back with wheat-like tufts on the ends. I don't care for it...but am not about to dig them up and replace them. Who knows why they all (three different grasses) kicked into this new form/shape/whatever?? Did I stress them into thinking they had to reproduce and now they are going to seed?

It sounds like you planted Blue fescues and they are all flowering at the same time, which would be expected if they are all the same variety and age. If you don't like the flowers, you could cut them off. Personally, I think the flowers are attractive.
