ID'ing ryegrasses

Blue wild rye evidently looks a lot like annual ryegrass so I'd like to know an easy way to tell them apart. Also,

(1) Is the former always blusih and

(2) Given my location in Victorville, Mojave desert, if watered regularly will the former die in the winter

Thanks all

It's perennial, although short-lived (1-3 years). Given enough water, which isn't much, it should survive. It's a cool season grass, so in your climate it may be semi-evergreen with some dormancy in the hottest season.
