Hello,
Can somebody tell me if this a weed, or Fountain Grass?

I did plant Dwarf Fountain Grass (Hameln) right across the driveway in September 2013, and now I'm wondering if it could have been started from seed dropped from the mother plants?

I originally thought it was a weed, so I yanked it. Later I thought better of it, and retrieved it from the compost.

Something tells me it is really a weed, and that it could not have started this early in the spring and get to this size (with seed pods) so quickly.

But the other thing odd is that it does have a "fountain" appearance, and I've never seen so many seed shoots in one clump of a weed.

Any help is appreciated.
