| This is my first year in about 15 years of growing a perennial bed. I have never tried one this large and have never grown grasses. I started out with the idea of planting a few grasses and some flowering perennials in my backyard. I may have gotten a bit out of hand but here are the grasses I have planted.
Graziella Miscanthus, Adagio Miscanthus, Silberfeder Miscanthus, Karley Rose Pennisetum , 5 Karl Foersters, 3 NorthWind Panicums (started with one and just added two more), 1 Northern Sea Oat, 3 "The Blues" Little Bluestem, 3 Prairie Dropseed and a Carex Indian Summer. I have had a big time wet soil problem (clay) and have had to raise up some of my original plantings. But the grasses as a group have done okay. The other flowering perennials have had a harder time. |
