There's quite a few it could be, but to throw out one possibility...Panicum v. Dallas Blues. Upright arching form, broad intense blue foliage. Doesn't seed out until Aug/Sept. 4' foliage, 1-2' airy seedheads. Very hardy grass.

Thanks! I'm not sure if that's it or not... something about it seems a bit different (the form, I think) and I can't find any pictures of it when it isn't in bloom to get a better grasp.

The problem is, I never got a close up look at it as it was off in the distance, planted as a screen between the park's edge and the woods. I had the brilliant idea to look at the park's website and see if there was perhaps a picture of it. Wouldn't you know, there is a picture of the EXACT AREA... before the grass and junipers were planted!

Again, thank you for your help... maybe I'll go to the nursery tomorrow and see if they have that variety and get a better look at it... provided Mother Nature is cooperative tomorrow. It's rumored that she will be in a foul mood again tomorrow.
