Need privacy on patio

I'm new to the forum, and I'd like some advice on the best way to gain some privacy with ornamental grasses grown in containers (no bamboo please). My HOA has rules against planting around the patio, plus I'll be moving next year, so something temporary is best. I'm in central Ohio.

What type of grass will grow about 5-7' in a container and last nearly all year? Would arborvitae be a better choice?
Thanks!

If you want an annual grass, try Pennisetum Rubrum or Pennisetum Burgundy Giant.

For a quick grower, miscanthus varieties will work well in a container. Try Graziella (which blooms a bit earlier up north) or Strictus (for some unusual variegation).

Calamagrostis Karl Foerster always does very well in your area.
