Ornamental Grass

Ornamental grasses as mosquito haven?

I would like to surround my suburban Chicago patio with something fairly tall to provide some separation from the rest of the yard. I like the idea of using ornamental grasses for this, but a friend expressed concern that mosquitoes congregate in them. Any relevant information/experiences appreciated. Thanks much.

They don't attract skeeters here, and we have Salt Marsh Mosquitoes like you wouldn't believe. Lawn grass, large evergreen and broadleaf shrubs, Hosta and a few other plants do, but not the grasses.

I've never noticed any congregating in any of mine either.
