ID help please, (Calamagrostis?)

Hi there,
I took this pic in a public park nearby, I liked their height and upright structure. They must be pretty resilient and can hold their ground against the Ceratostigma plumbaginoides surrounding it.

Could anyone guess the species/ cultivar? Grasses is a subject I am not really familiar with so far...

Thanks a lot, bye, Lin

I'd say Calamagrostis x acutiflora. 'Karl Foerster' if the foliage is plain green, 'Eldorado' if it's variegated.

Hello donn_,
thanks for your post,
no, definitely not stripy/ variegated.

I am pondering to put it into my "hedge" perennial border, just over 3 feet wide, perhaps I find a shorter cultivar, just to be on the save side.

Bye, Lin
