 o
companion plant for Karl Foerster - evergreen?

Hello,

I recently planted 3 Karl Foerster underneath a row of windows in the front of my house. Would like to put in some sort of foundational planting in front. A colorful evergreen would be great, but I can't seem to find anything. Anyone have good ideas? Thanks!

If it'll be planted in front of 'Karl' I'd look into the hundreds of dwarf conifers available. They come in a variety of colors and habits, and go well with grasses. The Conifer Forum right here at GW has an amazing array of photos posted by collectors.

Thanks donn. Lots of great dwarf conifers. Now how to decide?
How do you think a heather would work with the Karl Foerster?

Heather or Heath would go great, and they're easy to grow, as long as you don't let them get submerged in salt water. I lost a dozen different ones last year when Irene flooded my back garden.
