Heavy Porcupine Grass - support?

It has been a really dry summer so far this year. Then last weekend we finally got some nice heavy rain and strong winds. Now many of the stems of my porcupine grass have been knocked over, they are leaning quite a ways out, some are even knocked down close to the ground (my grass is just over 5' tall). I'm not too worried, seeing as the grass will just die off soon enough this fall and grow back, but things I'm wondering for next year:

A) is this normal with these tall grasses once they reach a good height that they can get knocked over by strong winds/heavy rains?

B) should I just let these grasses do their thing and get knocked around, or should I tie some sort of support around their base next year once they reach a decent height to prevent this? Or is this just a personal choice depending on my own esthetics?

thanks, I love this tall grass and can't wait for it to come back even fuller next year!

Rebecca
