Planting Grasses next to a stream

I am considering planting OGs next to (within 2-4 ft) of a stream at the back edge of my property. The soil is moist with a silt or sand mix (especially if you dig down 6inches), however there is no standing water on the surface. The stream occasionally overflows it's banks when we have a heavy rain but receeds quickly. The area receives full sun. I am looking for suggestions on types of OGs to consider. I have been told "Phalaris" would be a good choice, but am looking for other choices as well. Perhaps "Miscanthus" or "Pennisetum"??

BTW: Space is not a limitation, plenty of room
