My landscaper cut off the top of my Porcupine grass and it had blooms on them. He said that they were leaning. He said next year, they will grow thicker. Is that true? I told him he should not have cut them off, that was the beauty of them. I was "Livid." I planted them July 22, 2006.

When you say he cut off the "top" do you mean he cut the foliage down to a few inches, or just cut off the plumes?

I'd be livid too. Take the price of the plant out of his pay.

Your landscaper is a hack. Dump him and get someone else. Cutting them back now will do NOTHING toward next years growth. I would be livid as well. Obviously HE didn't plant the grass, or he would knowmore abotu tending for it.
