The plumes on mine stay 'purple/red' for 2 - 3 weeks max. The bonus with Malepartus is the lovely orangey tones that the foliage turns - like in your photo. A.
Now that you figured out how to post pix POST SOME MORE, LOL!!! My Malepartus looks like yours also except the plumes are lighter, more white-ish than beige (to my eye anyhow). Agree that the orangey tones are beautiful. Mine is pretty crowded at the back of the border so I don't notice it much. Couldn't help noticing your castor bean also, LOVE them! Here is a recent pic. of my Malepartus- {{gwi:872214}}
Thanks A. I agree about the fall color. The color seems to hit it's peak in the middle of October. I looks great right now. The seedheads have matured and dried up already. We usually have a freeze before that happens.
Juicy-Those plumes are gorgeous. I do plan on posting more pictures soon. My yard is so small that I really don't have much to show. Believe me, if I had more space, I would plant all kinds of different grasses.
