| Just had another thought.....it is possible that horsetail, Equisetum hyemale, would work for your purposes. Although not a grass (actually more closely related to ferns), it looks a lot like a reed or rush and is an incredible hardy plant (zone 3-10) that's been around since prehistoric times. It can grow in standing water (not more than about 6 inches) but it needs pretty bright light indoors. And it would be happy if it could spend the summer outdoors. Just don't plant in the ground - it is quite invasive. |
