Has anyone used this grass? I just mailordered 5 from DiggingDog and was wondering if people had any experience with it.

I grew some from seed I purchased from Jelitto. I planted it along a creek bank in fairly heavy shade where it has done reasonably well. Looks something like Chasmanthium latifolia. My plants have a good crop of seed this year and I'm hoping it will colonize.

I saw a picture of it in Darke's book and decided that it was unquestionably a very cool looking character. I located a woman who had it in her garden and she dug me a division that is in it's first year. I understand that they will tolerate shade but look perhaps their best in full to part sun. They will have a more compact form in more sun as is common in grasses. They will also get better fall color in more sun. They want some water and will not tolerate neglect in a dry hot spot. Very interesting grass.
