| The first grass looks like Calamagrostis x acutiflora (Feather Reed Grass). If the foliage is solid green, it's probably 'Karl Foerster.' If the foliage is variegated with green on the margins and white in the center, 'Avalanche.' Another popular variegated cultivar is 'Overdam.' The second one is more difficult to tell, but looks like some form of Miscanthus sinensis. |

| Thank you very much, Don. You have provided me two good starting points. I can decide on the cultivar at planting time. Jean, I did try knocking on these doors, but at the time I was taking my walk that day, no one was at home. Gardeners are a wonderful lot. I have been gifted seeds and cuttings that way. |
