can prairie dropseed tolerate some shade?

a neighbor gave me a pot of prairie dropseed this fall, telling me that it would take some shade. I have a LOT of shade, with only an area about 4' x 4' with sun during the hottest part of the day. I planted this grass in my sunny spot, but fear that it needs more sun. The spot that I planted it gets about 3 and 1/2 to 4 hours of sun. Is this enough?

All the resources, and its native habitat, would indicate it needs full sun. It may not do well for you.

donn: thanks for confirming what I suspected. well, it's in the ground now and I might as well leave it there. I also planted a russian sage in the same part-sun area. I suppose it will suffer the same fate as the grass.
