Super Stripe or Puenktchen (Little Dot)?

I need a smaller replacement for my Porcupine grass (strictus) and these two sound like the most promising candidates. Other ideas are welcome, though. The porcupine grass was topping out at 7-8 feet (without the plumes) and that's too tall for the spot. Ideally something about 4-5 feet before plumes would be about right, and I definitely want variegated. The more upright the better, but I'm going to have to stake regardless since this is against the side of the house and all the tall plants at the back tend to lean forward even though it's facing south.

I've seen photos of Super Stripe and it's gorgeous although I'm wondering how much it would flop outward. The descriptions of it seem to vary quite a bit. Gold Bar also looks nice but I think that's way too short.
