OG Liners

Question-

How are ornamental grass liners/plugs produced? I used small cell to grow grass such as fescue, northern sea oats, and love grass from seed but am curious about how growers produce thier plugs for other types of plants. Do they create very small divisions and then grow them out through winter? Curious.

PC,
I can only speak from my experience working with a 'small-time' grass grower in a zone 5 greenhouse.
We divided large clumps of grasses down into 1 or two shoot divisions. Potted up in 7201's and put in a greenhouse to root out. That's it.
