Two elderly couple use to sell at Kobey's Swapmeet San Diego, an alternative to grass. It only grew less than 1 inch tall spreading outward, about 4 inches in diameter. With thin narrow hard green leaves just like the spider plant but tougher. It multiplies by sprouting a stem which then grows into another again just like the spider plant. They said you can walk on them and it won't damage. It didn't require constant watering neither.

Does anyone know the name of what I'm talking about or something similar?
