mondo grass dieback

I have a bed of 5-6 year old mondo grass. Some of the tips are brown. I have never mowed it or cut it back. It looks bad. Can I mow it now, and then will it grow back this spring like liriope?

RE: mondo grass dieback

It can be pruned back just like the liriope and should come back nicer and greener. Mine gets those dead tips, too, and it takes till summer for it to look good if I don't prune it.
