Hi All,

I am new to gardening so trying to learn as I go. I have 2 sites I am interested in placing groundcover and hoping for ideas. What I am looking for are plants that do well in this area and have descent rates of growth. Here are the areas:

1. Two strips alongside the driveway that are covered with red lava rock. I would rather have groundcover and wondering if I need to get rid of the rocks. Not too concerned about color or flowers, more interested in hardiness.

2. Areas of the backyard that are heavily shaded due to a forrest like environment. Rapid growth would be high on my list here.

If anyone has the time to offer suggestions it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
