Groundcover along roadside-crownvetch?

We have a guardrail that runs along the front of our property for a distance of approx 200 feet. ( This is over 400 feet away from our house- our house is set back from the road, with woods in front) We would like to plant an attractive, low maintance ground cover out there so we don't have to continually mow or weedwack. I have been looking at planting crownvetch but not sure.. any ideas? Thanks

RE: Groundcover along roadside-crownvetch?

Perennial Sweetpea "Lathyrus latifolius" will take the conditions along a roadside. Grows quickly with pink flowers all summer. Re-seeds heavily and is easy to propagate. Lathyrus is much prettier than crown vetch and will cover more densely.
