| I have a flowering plant that is in bloom now in northern Ohio. It has a yellow buttercup like flower and it is in abundance in my yard. From a distance, one would think it was a dandelion by the color of the flower. Can anyone tell me what this might be? |

| Could be one of a number of species of field or creeping buttercups, Ranunculus spp. Most of these are considered weedy pests. Possibly also lesser celandine, Ranunculus ficaria, which is a more ornamental plant but a vigorous reseeder and spreader. Do a search on 'field buttercup' and see if anything that turns up looks like your plant and flower. |
