Stop those weeds groundcover

Hello to all
Im hoping I can get some help on my ground cover selections. My Number 1 requirement for a groundcover is that, after established (3 yrs or so), it does a great job of choking weeds out. Mazus Repens I do have and I feel it does a great job now that it is established, so I'm using that as my baseline (what I consider a very good weed control should be). I have 4 different areas that I want to put ground cover in. Hopefully I can get some much needed insight on my selections on the choice's weed control ability or other ideas are welcome too. All my soils (as tested) are a nutriant rich loam type. (I dont have heavy clay or really bad soils)

First area is full sun, good drainage, around pavers. I'm really liking Thymus 'Coccineus' I really like the red blooms for this area.

2 area; shade garden, morning sun only (till maybe 11 am) then all shade well drained raised bed with ferns and hostas. Sagina Sub. Scottish Moss. Possibly looking for ideas wanting another type that would casscade over about a 12 inch wall but still have the bright low growing folage.

3 area; north facing wall. gets sun about 3 pm until dark in mid summer. Raised bed, well drained. Im debating on Thymus 'Archers Gold' or Veronica repens "sunshine Golden" I like both for their foilage color, casscading ability and their blooms.

4 area; for the most part is full sun; thinking of Creeping Phlox 'Emerald Blue' or Veronica Repens 'Big Blue'. They both seem to have great cascading ability.

Isotoma "Blue star creeper' is another one I'm looking at.

Along with weed control, does anyone know if they grow readily from seed scatter?

Think you so much for your input and ideas.
