What exactly is a lasagna bed??

I've heard this term used quite a bit, but I still don't know what it is. Thanks!

I'm still trying to master that myself.
Try the Soil forum, they have a FAQ and loads of people and past posts to clarify things.

I went out and bought the book "Lasagna Gardening" very informative, but seems a bit messy. I have not tried it yet as I live in a clay dirt area and several folks have said it will not work here. Basically, it is 7 layers of wet newspaper, then a layer of shredded brown leaves, then a layer of green, repeat brown and green. On some pages it recommends a layer of dirt mixed in there, on some blood meal. The book is by Patricia Lanza. Good Luck!
