Please read my horror story, noob gardener in the house!

Hi, here's my sob story. I have a 80 ft. x 8 ft. bank on the west side of my house. I mulched the entire bank and then planted vinca minor along it. After this i realized i didn't pull up the weed barrier underneath (that hurt bad!). So i pulled out the vinca which took 5 hrs. to plant, then i pulled up the weed barrier. Now my mulch looks like a tornado came through.
Anyway now my vinca sits in wet newspaper and i am reconsidering planting it. I need help! What is some good looking groundcover to choke out weeds, looks nice, and stays green yr. round. I know about vinca minor and juniper but what are some others? Sincerely, Tired and confused.

The vinca will do fine. Why don't you use Roundup or something similar to kill the weeds then wait and replant the vinca. Keep the plants wet in the garage or in the shade, but don't pile them on top of each other. Hey no one is perfect it's when the pros blow it and get paid that's the problem. The mulch will still be there, just imagine the area when planted. Sorry, but everyone learns from their mistakes, or should.
