Lady's Mantle, Alchemilla 'Alpina'

NOT the 'Mollis' variety, but the smaller 'Alpina' cultivar - wondering if anyone uses these successfully as a groundcover? I just moved these along a flagstone walkway as an underplanting / border planting next to my pygmy barberries.

They're clump forming plants, but wondering how successful they are for a full groundcover? I have them planted less than 12 inches apart.

Can anyone comment?
