Slopes, snakes and little water

I am looking for a ground cover for a slope that is drought resistent and will not encourage rattlesnakes to take up residence. I live in the greater Los Angeles area our summer temps. range from 80's up to the low 100's, with mild winters.

Any suggestions would very much be appreciated.

You might want to look into Baby's Breathe, Lavender or Thyme for your area. Snakes will be in any groundcover but maybe Thyme's aroma might keep them at bay.

Artemisia stellariana 'Silver Brocade' likes very well drained soil. It is a very nice ground cover. Don't know about the snake issue though.
