Blue Star Creeper questions

Hi all! I'm fairly new here and could use some advice if you have any. I have blue star creeper (Laurentia Fluviatills) taking over my turfgrass lawn. It started in a planting bed under a Japanese Maple and has been taking over the lawn now for 2 years. I love it more than I do my own lawn and would now like to get rid of the turfgrass and keep the creeper. I'm hoping that if I can get rid of the turfgrass and keep the blue star, our yard will require much less water and we wont need to mow anymore.

So here are my questions:

1. Is the Blue Star Creeper more water efficient than turfgrass?

2. Is there any way to kill off the grass and not harm the blue star?

3. Is there a way to get the creeper to fill in the rest of the yard faster? Like can I take clippings and plant other places to fill in or do I need to dig up some sections of creeper with roots and try to spread them out to help them take over faster? I haven't been able to find seed for it anywhere so I'm assuming I can't just sprinkle seeds over the area.

Thanks in advance for any advice ya'll have!
