Groundcover For Swingset/Junglegym

Hi All,
I am wondering if there is a grouncover that would be good to put around my kids swingset? Perhaps something that does well in partial shade? I am not expecting it to live up to the abuse it would get when the kids drag thier feet on the swing, but if it could stand up to occasinal foot traffic I would be happy. My only criteria is that I don't want it to grow too tall, or it should be trimmable (we have a tick problem in the area).
