Or is it a reasonable idea?

I have a short stepping stone walk made from using a cobblestone mold and quickcrete. Over time, the stones have moved apart and dirt has filled the separation areas.

I'm thinking I could mix up a batch of that buttermilk/yogurt-and-moss-in-the-blender recipe. Then, I could apply it to the surface of the dirt between the stones to create a carpet of Irish moss.

Think this would work if I kept it misted till it got growing?

that's not irish moss... irish moss isn't a moss at all.

but yes, if you can take a moss from the same kind of growing conditions as the path, you should have some good luck :)

I would check over in the 'moss, fern' forum, they might either know which moss would be best, or something I've missed (I have silver cushion moss, which wouldn't work so well in a walk way, but there are plenty of other sorts)
