Any tips? Neighbor gave me a large clump (about the size of a toilet seat -- bad reference, sorry) and I stuck it in the ground a while ago. Now I'd like to separate. Should I wait a year? Is it going to be tough? TIA

I have separated and transplanted lily of the valley--I don't remember if this was before or after the bloom--but it did well and has multiplied. No need to wait IME. Both pachysandar and lily of the valley prefer shade.

Do it now before the lily of the valley gets anywhere else you don't want it. I've been trying to get it out of the root zones of more desirable shrubs and perennials for years.
