My boss brought in a groundcover he needs identified. Kind of vinelike, grows upright, about 6 inches. Green leaves, with white towards the edges, a bit striated. Leaves are opposite each other in twos, relatively smooth edges and slightly pointed at the tip.

Looks like it might be a variety of vinca perhaps, but we both always thought vinca grew more "overflowing" like in baskets.

I tried looking at various plant databases, but wasn't having much luck since I really don't know which ones are particularly good as far as finding things by picture first.

I had a euonymous fortunei 'emerald gaitey' that, when young, sounds a lot like your description.

You could look at google photos of variegated Vinca major, it can grow upright. Vinca minor is smaller and trails on the ground.
