Sun Groundcovers in TN Tennessee

Posted by obrannon (My Page) on

We are in the middle TN area and are looking for uncommonly used groundcovers for a full sun spot in our yard. We have hollys used as shrubs, so we are looking for a full sun ground cover that will provide some contrast to the hollys in the background. Any suggestions?

RE: Sun Groundcovers in TN Tennessee

Holly's have dark leaves I think. Well you could try golden creeping jenny, it is a bright almost neon yellow/green color, and get small yellow flowers for a while in summer. You would need to keep it watered untill established and in drought conditions. Hens and chicks, any kind of stonecrop do well in full sun. creeping junipers. Take your pick.
